Respect for every job in the West!

Is there really equality in the west when it comes to job descriptions?! I mean do people consider a janitor and a CEO the same? If they do then how do they get ahead?!! Doesn't aspiration mean to go to a higher place?! If everyone thought being a janitor is good enough then no one would want to become a manager or a CEO.! I understand in the west people of lower job-descriptions dont really respect their superiors the way we do in India, i mean they dont have to stand while talking to the CEO or not share the same table for lunch but does that mean they are really equal or are they just tokens of compromise on a superficial level?!

A man works very hard to climb up the ladder and to become a CEO, so he doesnt have to face the same life of being a janitor, he doesnt want to be looked down on, he wants more power, attention and respect. The same man becomes the boss tomorrow. Then doesn't that mean the janitor is not good enough.! So how on earth is that equality of workmanship!

If all that is only on a superficial scale that to for people who grew up in a different world and get carried away by the sweet talk, manners, the green grass and the glazed windows. In reality i dont think there is a such thing. Calling your boss by his name doesn't not make you his equal and he didn't work his way up just so he can make your life better. Every boss cherish his power and control over others and he likes the fact that you are his subordinate and below him and he has the power to fire you. If there is no carrot and stick to climb up then people would have no reason to work for. If some people cant look through the superficiality then they dont get the meaning of Hierarchy. Hierarchy is not a chart that goes from left to right but rather from bottom to top.

No ones want to be a cabie or a janitor the rest of their life. Some people are scared shit about not being recognized. In the US there is this word that everyone dreeds and no one wants to get identified with, its called "looser". No one wants to end up as that and there are ceratin jobs that only losers do. All this doesn't constitute an equal world. The World we live in wont work if there was equality. Its not to say thats the right way but thats the way it has become.

I respect people not for the work they do but for the fact that we all as humans go through some sort of suffering, so in general i have respect for their life as sentient beings and not for what they are worth in the market.

friendship

Friendship.. The good old boat that wasn't meant to sink but sinks ever so often and sometimes even disappears like magic when the seas are rough.!

That said, its also not fare to expect too much from another human, we forget that others are as imperfect as we are and its totally not fare to expect anything that we wont deliver ourselves. We are all busy getting ahead with our own rate race and we all have our own problems to attend to, why should anyone go out of his or her way to help someone else unless that's his job and he thinks he is going to get a seat next to god in haven, thats still an selfish act and its no diffrent form doing it for a million dollors, for a million dollors i would even sit next to Michel Jackson. : )

All relationships are based on mutual need. When one does not get that anymore from someone the relationship ends. Even with husband and wifes the relationship continues as long as they keep getting what they want, a need for social acceptance to stay married is what drives most marriage in India, even in the west if the husband is an abusive alcoholic the woman sticks to him as long as she thinks she is getting what she wants, it may be security or safety but they endure the abuse and stick on.

We could own a house or a car but we can never own another human, if we try to posses or impose our will we are only left with conflict. So what needs to go must be let to fly, if it comes back its your luck or if it doesn't then need to know we never owned anything or anybody, so let it go.
I haven't posted here for a while. I have been back packing for almost 2 m0nths and i returned about 3 weeks ago. I wish to write some things but I hope i can put some pen on those thoughts soon enough.

Some one once said that we are nothing but words, it took me quite a while to come to that stage of understanding, in the end you realize all our thoughts are mere words nothing more, like a computer is driven by a sub-stratum of numbers even though we only see images and alphabets in the screen same way we are driven by words even tough we see images and emotions, these words drive our emotions and our deeds. In the end even the "I" ego is nothing more than a word, your told that the "I" is something more than a word pointing to a self, but have you actually seen that self the "I" points to? If you did see deeper you will see only the letter "I" remains, the "I" never existed when you where born, it is a construct of society and conditioning of the mind. There is no entity the word "I" is pointing to, you cant see the entity or soul or sprit because there is nothing beyond it.

If i read a holy book and then i become part of that cult then those words run my life as though a programmer runs his computer with his pre-recorded programs, you become something else listening to words. So emphasizing on that i had written a small poem.

To whom does these words belong.
Not me, not to thee, nor not to anyone that be.

I am not the one that speaks, nor the one that seeks.

I am not of any beloveds own, nor of the earths sweet furn.

There is none like me, not now or ever to be.

Just words go on by, nay they are not of me.

Renewable Sources of Energy.

Some how the word "sustainable energy" sounds suspicious to me. There is this hype about Bio-Diesel these days and how it will solve a lot of ills! Even i was going to plant it in my farm(i didn't because of various other reasons like poor yield and government laws etc.,) but the recent news is that they are actually cutting down Rain Forests in Indonesia just to plant these Bio-fuel crops! so what's next? "Use regular Diesel and save the rain forest"!!

Farmers in India's rich Krishna Basin which is called the Rice bowl of India have stopped planting rice and switched to Bio-Diesel crops as an easier alternative, which made the Gov bring in a new law that you can't use more than 10% of your land for Energy crops. A new law already for something that was going to solve a problem?!!

Its seems our mind can only create new problems and never a solution. I doubt if we can actually have sustainable sources for a world population that consumes like pigs and is going to reach 8 billion soon!

The fact is the World has always been sustainable which includes sustaining human life, i don't know whats the squabble about sustaining? What are we sustaining? Our needs or our greed's? Frankly i don't mind settling for a decent little cottage some where far off without T.V, loads of useless gadgets and unnecessary "luxurious".
